Outstanding Performance Indicator Scores for Hereward College!

FE Choices (formerly Framework for Excellence) have recently released the performance indicator scores for 2009/2010/2011. The publication updates the information available on Success Rates and Learner Satisfaction.

FE Choices is the official site for comparing the performance of further education colleges and other organisations that receive Government funding to educate and train people over the age of 16.

Geoff Russell, Chief Executive Skills Funding Agency, said:
"The publication of FE Choices is an important feature of the Government’s approach to working in partnership with the sector to develop a new sector-led FE Public Information framework.

"This information will allow learners and employers to make informed choices about which course or provider will best meet their learning needs. It will also provide valuable information to help providers assess their performance against others in the sector and to improve their quality and services."

The data below shows how we compare with the FE colleges in Coventry and Warwickshire:

 Organisation Name
FE long courses
The percentage of qualifications successfully achieved in the full year 2009/10
Learner satisfaction
How learners rated this organisation during 2010/11
Hereward College of Further Education
8.4 out of 10
City College, Coventry
8.2 out of 10
Henley College Coventry
8.2 out of 10
Warwickshire College
7.8 out of 10
North Warwickshire and Hinckley College
7.8 out of 10
Stratford Upon Avon College
7.9 out of 10

From the data provided, it can be seen that Hereward College has the highest rate of qualifications successfully achieved for FE long courses, with 86.2% learners passing their courses (6th overall out of all General FE Colleges in UK).

Jac Wales, Vice Principal (Quality and Curriculum), had the following to say:
‘This is a great result and shows that our learners receive first class education and training and achieve their goals at Hereward. We have excellent success rates as a result of the commitment and effort we put into sustained improvements in student support and teaching and learning methods.‘

Moreover, Hereward highly values its reputation as a provider of a caring, learning environment where students’ individual needs are the highest priorities (hence the tagline: Promoting Individual achievement). The reputation is highlighted by the 8.4/10 learner satisfaction (which is well above the national average and highest among FE colleges in Coventry and Warwickshire) and by our latest Ofsted Report. Both Investors in People and our students have praised the strong guidance and support for students from our enthusiastic, helpful and friendly staff  and the opportunities offered to develop the skills they need to become as independent as possible.

Jon Clugston, Vice Principal (Student Independence and Transition) wanted to add that:
‘Hereward is committed to making our courses as rewarding as possible. When students look back on their college days, we want them to remember them as amongst the best days of their lives, where they managed to achieve their qualifications, while making lots of friends and gaining the skills and confidence needed to start the journey on their chosen career.’

Hereward College is still recruiting for a range of courses starting in September 2012, so don’t hesitate to look at our prospectus and apply as soon as possible in order to avoid disappointment.
