Hereward College organises 1Voice Event!

Many children and adults have plenty to say, but are unable to control their mouth muscles to speak clearly. They can use aids such as pictures, written words and technology to communicate. This is known as AAC (alternative or augmentative communication).

On the 15th of Octobre AAC users, their carers, families and associated professionals will be attending an event organized by 1Voice at Hereward College.

1Voice takes a family and social perspective on communication and recognises the great need for adult role models to inspire children and families alike. 1Voice promotes families supporting each other to overcome the isolation that being unable to speak can bring. Several adult role models will talk about 1Voice and develop links with Hereward students!
There will also be a range of manufacturers bringing along communication equipment and games (computer games, Boccia). Our students have been invited to come along and look at the latest equipment being demonstrated!
If you want to participate at the event, or for more information contact Lynn Weekes (Lynn.Weekes@hereward.ac.uk).
